Wayfarer's Meditation Mandalas is a series of videos that aid in achieving a meditative state. Traditional mandalas from Eastern religions and philosophies are used to give the mind something to focus on as one tries to quiet the mind. The sensory experience of casting one's vision over the complex artwork of mandalas allows one's mind to focus its attention on the beaut of the artwork and its intricacies, while allowing the mind to become quieter in its normally perpetual use of internal verbal dialogue. The quieting of the words in the mind is essential in meditation.
These non-traditional, video mandalas have their own intricacies that help pull the mind into viewing them and their movements. They have archetypal imagery such that the mind becomes intrigued. As the mind is soothed by this sensory experience, the mind also receives a soothing aural experience from the pulsing, pattern-based music that helps to bring about a trance state. The result is that the viewer/listener can achieve a quieter mental state that assists in meditation. The colors and imagery used are somewhat subject-based as each mandala has a theme. By using imagery that relates to each theme that the mind can ponder, one can coax the mind to quietly focus on the subjects of each mandala.
These mandalas are also created with an artistic view in mind, and the music and visual experience can be enjoyed for its own sake as pieces of art.
